A picture of the Dutchman was used by Interbest without his permission and van Gaal has promised to give any damages to charity

Louis van Gaal is demanding almost £75,000 in damages after a company used a picture of him in an newspaper advert without his permission.
The Manchester United boss went to court last week after alleging that Dutch firm Interbest had used a picture of him at last summer’s World Cup without his permission.
An initial ruling agreed that Van Gaal has a case - and he is now taking up a second battle to win €100,000 in compensation.
Van Gaal has promised to give any cash he is awarded to charity.
Interbest organises an annual competition for the best writers in Holland.
But they blundered when they used a photograph of writing notes on the touchline underneath the caption ‘Everyone does it, even Van Gaal does it!’
Van Gaal was not pleased. He claims that his face and popularity was used by a commercial company and his lawyers convinced the court that this should not be allowed.
The company claimed that Van Gaal is a popular figure, but the court ruled in favour of the United boss.
Van Gaal now has to prove in court that his face is worth the money he is demanding.
The Dutchman’s wife Truus said last night that he will donate all the money to his charity ‘Muscles for Muscles’, which helps children with severe and life-threatening muscle diseases.
