Manchester United announce signing of Anthony Martial on four-year deal

Manchester United have completed the signing of Anthony Martial from AS Monaco on a four-year deal said to be worth £36 million.
The 19-year-old is a highly-rated forward who has been compared to a young Thierry Henry, but is still largely unproven at the highest level
Martial is now the most expensive teenager of all time but fans are skeptical about the signing given that he’s only scored 15 goals in his senior club career.
Monaco bought him from Lyon two years ago for £5 million in a deal that many thought was excessive at the time. It proved to be a shrewd move.
Martial looks like he will be United’s only deadline day arrival with the club still quite limited on their attacking options this season.

Speaking after completing the deal, Martial said that he was honoured to join ‘the biggest club in the world’. He also said: “I’m so excited to join United. I’ve always wanted to play in the Premier League and look forward to meeting my team-mates.”
Louis van Gaal gushed about the striker and said he had great potential.
